Get a residency permit like we did. Glynn (and others I'm sure) will guide you through the process. I go away to relax and enjoy not to worry if the visa stamp in my passport is going land me in trouble on the way home.

Visa purchased on 13th May will expire on 8th November, so as you will not have had 90 days in Turkey during this time, you will be ok.
Any trip after 9th November will need you to purchase a new Visa.

If you were to be here on dates crossing the 8th November, it would be easier to get a residency permit.
(Juco has a calculator on this site somewhere, or I think you can email him for it!!)

OK.

I have been seeking clarification from the Turkish Consultate regarding the new visa regulations - they couldnt answer me, so they directed me to www.gototurkey.com. I have received advice from them that the visa is only valid for 90 days and after the expiration of the visa you cannot re-enter turkey for another 90 days. I replied that I did not think this was the case and was under the impression that the visa lasted for 180 days but you could only stay for 90 days in that 180 day period. She said that was not correct and the visa only lasted for 90 days. She sent me the following link, which to say the least is ambiguous - on one hand it says the visa is for 180 days but then it also says

"British citizens may obtain a multiple entry visitor's visa, valid for 90 days, at the port of entry on payment of £10 in cash (Scottish currency is not accepted). Visas can also be obtained in advance from the Turkish Consulate in London".

The link is http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-liv ... quirements

Can anyone enlighten me!

Tracy
If you stay for 90 days straight then you cant go back into Turkey for another 90 days.
If you are going for shorter Periods at a time You can visit for 90 days at seperate times in a 180 Day Period ,under the one £10 Visa .Ann :D

You would only be in Turkey for 33 days out of 180 so you are o.k with the one visa for all of this years holidays....Nov 10th you would need to pay another tenner.

90/180 suits us fine at the moment, and cheaper than last years visits. :)

That appears to be correct. The Visa is for 180 days but you are only allowed 90 days in the country. I think what she is saying is you are only allowed 90 days in the country.

"British citizens may obtain a multiple entry visitor's visa, valid for 90 days, at the port of entry on payment of £10 in cash (Scottish currency is not accepted). Visas can also be obtained in advance from the Turkish Consulate in London".

That is also correct as you can enter `multiple` times within your allocated 90 days on a 180 day visa.
